Tamayo is a hybrid Tomatillo. Tall, vigorous plants have a semi-open habit which allows for easy harvest of its intense green colored, husk covered fruit. Tamayo is adaptable to growing regions and its fruit set and size excel. The firm, uniform sized fruit have an above average shelf life and average 2-1/2 to 3″ in diameter. Tomatillos are a staple for green salsas and Mexican cooking.
